Beach Retreat
We recently completed work on an amazing beach home. After adding extensive systems to our clients home here in Central Pennsylvania, they invited us to do something similar in a beach home they had recently purchased. The home is so new, all the furniture you see belongs to the prior owners. Our clients have just started an ambitious program of redecorating and WeeBee Custom added an integrated dream system as well.
We’ll be going back to beach sometime in the future, once the redecorating is complete to shoot more images. For now, here is a peek inside something truly unique.
Some views of the exterior of the home and the entrance.
The house sticks out onto the water and the back three sides are almost completely surrounded by beautiful, glimmering waves. There is a large deck that we’ve installed an incredible system of Klipsch outdoor loudspeakers and subwoofers with their dedicated amplifier system. We’ve also run High Definition video out to the Jacuzzi area so the clients can take one of the small HD LCDs from in the house and view either their standard cable or view any of the thousands of films they have stored on their Kaleidescape media servers.
Klipsch outdoors, right now covered in snow, will provide music all summer long, rain or shine. And even in the winter, they still sounds great. Guaranteed to last for years and years, these speakers will make warm summer gatherings more fun and even sweeping the snow off the deck in December a little more tolerable.

Just inside the sliding glass doors off the deck is this casual living room with a Vidikron 60″ HD plasma with a Definitive Technology Mythos Series LCR speaker underneath.

Just off the living room with a panaramic view of the water is a small parlour. The elegant Definitive Technology Mythos Series towers are the perfect compliment. We’ve also hidden a Definitive Technology subwoofer behind the chair to make sure our clients feel the music as much as they hear it.

On the other side of the living room is the kitchen. We’ve added an LG Electronics HD LCD monitor. Because we’ve built-in to the wall a set of dedicated HD plugs for the monitor, it can be easily disconnected and moved anywhere in the home our clients wish (out by the Jacuzzi for instance).

Off the kitchen is a cozy dining room and solarium. We’ve installed in-wall speakers in the dining room so that the music is out of sight and out of the way. In the solarium we’ve used the outdoor Klipsch 2-way loudspeakers.

Here Vice-President of Custom Home Operations, Lee Rambler is working on wiring the two custom Raxxus equipment racks that (once they’re completely wired) will be hidden in a closet. In addition to all the audio/video equipment, the racks hold Furman Power conditioning units for everything we as well high-end Ixos interconnects to link everything together.

On the left: A stack of pure power. Here are five SpeakerCraft Big Bang Amplifiers which will power various parts of the interior and exterior sound system. The middle two shots are the three Kaleidescape client servers that will contain part of clients film collection. The three servers give them three independent sources for HD video that can delivered anywhere inside or outside the home. On the right are the speaker wire runs from all over the house and outside. Once the racks are wired and just before they go into the closet Lee will connect everything up to appropriate amplifier or surround receiver.

The front parlor contains a unique home theater system. Most visible the 71″ LG Electronics HD plasma display. Defintive Technology Mythos Series towers add powerful and natural sound. A Definitive Technology subwoofer will make the movie experience in this parlor a memorable experience.

Upstairs in the guest bedroom is a pop-up plasma. A Vidikron 42″ HD plasma monitor is being carefully mounted into its’ pop-up unit.

In another guest room a 32″ LG Electronics HD LCD monitor and dedicated DVD player rests in a built-in media cabinet.

In the master suite there will be another pop-up unit hiding another 42″ Vidikron HD plasma display.

The master bath is completely wired for sound with in-ceiling speakers.

Off the master suite is a private balcony. Here we’ve hidden Klipsch outdoor monitors so that the music need not end if our clients decide to relax on outdoors.

Finally, just a peek in the attic. It’s an understatement to say that neatness and organization on a system like this (or really any system) is a requirement. Here’s a shot of the speaker wire and signal cable bundles running through the attic. These converge in the center of the house and go down into the equipment closet.

We still have some more shots of this fantastic home. Check back soon for more.
Thanks for visiting!
